Funding your energy efficiency project

In some cases, you may be able to obtain funding for work to make your home more energy-efficient.

Funding or grants are available from three main sources:

UK Government

Grants are available for renewable energy projects (up to 30% of the installed cost of a wind turbine or solar water heating panels).

There are also Government funded schemes providing up to ?2,700 to households on certain benefits to improve their heating and energy efficiency. The scheme is known as 'Warn Front' in England. 'Warm Deal' in Scotland and 'Home Energy Efficiency Scheme' in Wales

Your local authority

Some local authorities provide grants and offers for local residents to install energy efficiency measures in their home.

Energy suppliers

All the major UK energy companies offer incentives to encourage energy efficiency projects in the home.

What's more, you can take up offers from any of the energy companies, regardless of who supplies your gas and electricity.
